We need to design both general and more domain specific training on specific topic areas eg. bacterial, fungal, viral pathogens, vectors etc., and identify/tailor courses for different stakeholders. We also need to train external stakeholders on the standards and outputs of the PHA4GE consortium. Many pathogen training courses and programs exist which we can draw from in terms of materials and providing access. The Working Group will assess the current status of pathogen training as well as the training needs of different stakeholders. We will collate information and materials and develop recommendations on training for different audiences. To ultimately develop training standards and resources that will help to create a workforce able to effectively implement pathogen surveillance and epidemiology.
The Working Group and H3ABioNet are undertaking a landscaping exercise to identify existing training courses and materials relevant to Pathogen Genomics and Epidemiology. We aim to collate information on courses and training materials into a central resource that can potentially be used by those who need to organize training for the various role players in this area, most notably in the public health sector.
You are invited to complete a survey regarding training courses and programs you are involved in that are relevant to the topic area, including all aspects of pathogen genomics, NGS and epidemiology.
The survey can be completed multiple times if you are involved in more than one relevant course or program.
