Containerized Workflows, Cloud Compute Infrastructure, and GUI Web Applications: a Model for Distributed Public Health Bioinformatics
Kevin G. Libuit, M.S., Theiagen Genomics

In episode 6 we have a guest presentation from Kevin Libuit, M.S., who is the Chief Technology Officer of Theiagen Genomics.

Mr. Libuit is a public health scientist who has dedicated his career to addressing the challenges of integrating DNA sequencing and bioinformatics technologies that strengthen public health decision making. Through his advocacy for collaborative and open-source development, Mr. Libuit has become a key figure in the public health bioinformatics community who co-founded the State Public Health Bioinformatics (StaPH-B) consortium and currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Public Health Alliance for Genomic Epidemiology’s (PHA4GE) Bioinformatics Working Group.

As the Chief Technology Officer of Theiagen Genomics, his role is to advance bioinformatics integration for Theiagen’s public health partners. This work has led to the adoption of Theiagen’s open-source solutions by over 40 US state and local public health laboratories and dozens of academic and government institutions across both South-East Asia and Western Africa. Mr. Libuit’s success in these initiatives stems from his ability to communicate directly with public health scientists facing critical challenges and allowing these conversations and relationships to guide Theiagen’s software and training development priorities.

This webinar is organized by the PHA4GE Secretariat in partnership with Theiagen Genomics.
