The appointments are as follows:

  • Dr Palesa Makoti, who will provide support for all activities and deliverables in some PHA4GE working groups, and across driver projects.
  • Dr Rekha Sathyan, who will offer similar support for a number of PHA4GE working groups and driver projects.
  • Dr Stanford Kwenda, who will lead the development of the PHA4GE meningitis community standard.

The appointments will continue until the end of 2026.

“These appointments really allowed us to offer greater support to PHA4GE and, especially, the working groups, whose activities have grown in number and intensity,” says Dr Tracey Calvert-Joshue, programme lead within the PHA4GE Secretariat. “We believe that these postdoctoral deployments will allow us to fill critical gaps human capacity within the organisation, and we’re excited about the work that our fellows can dedicate their time and skillsets to.”
