Working Group Description

“This workgroup will build upon existing repository tools, APIs, and databases, including the newly-launched Pathoplexus platform. By collaborating with repository staff, stakeholders, and the Pathoplexus community, the group aims to develop consensus-driven solutions for public health-relevant processes and data structures. Taking into account the development roadmaps of NCBI, DDBJ, ENA, and Pathoplexus, we will provide technical recommendations to improve the utility, usability, and integration of Pathoplexus within the broader landscape of pathogen data systems.

Projects

Pathoplexus is a open-source database designed to enhance the sharing and analysis of human viral pathogen genomic data. Developed in response to the growing need for specialized viral databases, Pathoplexus aims to offer the features needed for the research community to share and explore datasets for viruses of public health importance. By leveraging new open-source software, Pathoplexus provides a robust and user-friendly platform for scientists and public health professionals.

We are announcing Pathoplexus, a specialised genomic database for viruses of public health importance. By combining modern open-source software with transparent governance structures, Pathoplexus fills a niche within the existing genomic sequencing database landscape, aiming to meet requests from both data submitters and users and striving to improve equity.
